About Me

Hi folks, my name’s Jim Webb. Like most of you, probably, I’m a ‘50s kid, all grown up now and nostalgic for the good old days. You know, when America was prosperous, when we made all our own cars, and appliances, and everything else. When helicopter parents weren’t even an idea, and it was thought of as strange if you weren’t playing on your own away from the house. Well, this is a site for all of us to talk about things we loved from childhood, and what we’re thinking about in the country now.
I grew up in Columbus, right down the way from the Rose Garden. I’ve lived here all my life and watched things change before my very eyes. After a few years in the Navy, I became a manager at a local factory, AmSteel, which ran right up until the ‘90s. Since then, I’ve done a lot of different jobs for short stints, but am finally switching gears into retirement. Now I’ve got all the time in the world to tinker with my old cars, and wax nostalgic about the way things were. I hope you enjoy the blog.
